Conventional fish finders emit sound waves into the sea at a single frequency and display the received signals as images.
In contrast, CHIRP fish finders emit sound waves while gradually changing the frequency and display the received signals as images after special processing.
This significantly improves resolution and allows fish to be clearly displayed.

Furthermore, to realize this CHIRP technology, a dedicated wideband transducer capable of outputting signals over a wide frequency range is required.
By developing both the main unit and the transducer in-house, we are able to achieve optimal settings and produce highly detailed images.

Wideband Transducer for Clear CHIRP™ Fish Finders

You can choose from TD320/TD340/TD361/TD380 for Clear CHIRP™ wideband transducers.
The frequencies are 90kHz to 140kHz for mid CHIRP, 38kHz to 70kHz for low CHIRP, and 130kHz to 220kHz for high CHIRP.

HDX-12C also features Wideband mode! You can select the frequency.

In wideband mode, by connecting a wideband transducer, you can select frequencies in 5kHz steps for low frequencies and 10kHz steps for mid and high frequencies. By selecting and changing the optimal frequency according to the fishing ground and target fish species, it is also effective in reducing interference from other ships' fish finders and noise.

Main Fishfinder Functions of HDX-12C

The HDX-12C is equipped with a variety of functions unique to HONDEX fishfinders.

Fish Size Display

The digital series adds a size display to the popular fish character function.
You can determine the size from 1 to 99, and to instantly check reactions and other information on the actual image, a one-touch "display/hide" function and a two-screen display with the normal screen have been adopted.
*This function is only valid in fish mark mode. It can also be used within a 100m range.
*The numerical values of the size display may have errors due to various factors. Please consider them as reference values only.

Fish Depth Display

The fish character display now includes the height from the seabed and the depth from the sea surface (unit: m).
*This function is only valid in fish mark mode. It can also be used within a 100m range.

Dual Frequency Display

You can split the fishfinder image of the same frequency into two screens and adjust the sensitivity of each.
By comparing the two screens, you can set the optimal sensitivity.

Full Screen Sensitivity Adjustment

With previous fish finders, sensitivity changed from the moment it was adjusted, but with digital fish finders, it is now possible to change the sensitivity on the screen (past records).
This feature allows sensitivity adjustment while viewing the entire screen (past records), enabling even beginners to manually set up clear images.

Bright screen with wide viewing angle & bonded LCD

The display has a very high resolution of 800 x 600 dots, clearly showing even subtle responses and text.
Additionally, the adoption of a high-brightness LCD (1000 candela) ensures excellent visibility even in bright conditions such as direct sunlight.
Furthermore, the bonded LCD improves visibility and prevents condensation.

Built-in GPS antenna, compatible with monitor connection system

The HDX-12C has a built-in GPS antenna. *When using the built-in antenna, reception may not be possible depending on the mounting location and method.
Additionally, the HDX-12C can be connected to a monitor (no modification costs required), allowing the same screen to be displayed in remote locations on the boat.
